Find out more about the Canadian Foodgrains Bank

Neerlandia-Vega Community Growing Project

This spring a quarter of land opened up for the Canadian Foodgrains bank to use for a growing project. The quarter is located just south of Vega, follow the signs on the highway if you would like to check it out. Wheat was planted on the quarter May 5th. Plans are in the works for a community harvest day in which everyone can participate in the project. More details to come!

You can contribute by participating in our “Buy an Acre” program for $150 which covers the approximate costs to grow one acre of crop for one year. Talk to Daniel Aarsen at the Co-op Ag department to “Buy an Acre”.

The funds raised from this project will go towards the Canadian Foodgrains bank.

Our Goal is a world without hunger. We work toward this goal by: providing food in times of crisis for hungry people in the developing world; helping people grow more food to better feed themselves and their families; and providing nutritional support to malnourished people with a focus on pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and young children.

To stay up to date follow the project on our FaceBook page.

Thank you for your support!
